GPI is seeking a full-time Highway Design Engineer for our growing Northern New England Transportation Group. This group is based in our Bedford, NH office, but candidates could potentially also work out of our Portsmouth, NH, or Wilmington, MA offices. We are looking for individuals that are ready to work collectively with a multi-discipline team of engineers in a dynamic office environment on interesting and challenging projects. Our Northern New England projects involve varying types of roadway, bridge, intersection, and trail designs. GPI understands the significant responsibility we have as engineers to provide safe, practical, and context-sensitive transportation solutions to the many communities and clients we serve. Responsibilities:

Knowledge of highway design and will be comfortable taking a lead role in the design and development of Plans, Specifications, and Estimates for transportation projects
Experience with the New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT), Maine Department of Transportation (MEDOT), and NH and ME municipal clients is preferred
Ability to develop plans for preliminary and final horizontal and vertical alignments, cross-sections, grading, drainage design, and utility relocations
Understanding of construction as it relates to developing temporary traffic control plans and construction staging/stormwater plans and details is a plus

Qualifications:

2 to 8 years of highway engineering experience preferred. All levels of experience will be considered
BS in Civil Engineering required; focus in Transportation preferred
EIT and PE (MA, NH and/or ME) a plus
NHDOT and/or Northern New England municipal clients experience a plus
AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Bentley MicroStation experience is required
