Position Summary
As an Associate Software Engineer at Ascensus, you will be working in a high-energy team, learning how to write beautiful code by using the best engineering practices in the industry today (e.g. unit testing, source control, continuous integration, automation, design patterns). Passion for all aspects of software development is critical. We are building teams that are empowered to solve the business needs by having a rapid development and deployment pipeline with a focus on automation and releasing software.
As an Associate software engineer, you will be assisting the team with delivering solutions that adhere to the software architecture strategy, coding standards, and established organizational policies and procedures.
Job Functions, Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for protecting, securing, and proper handling of all confidential data held by Ascensus to ensure against unauthorized access, improper transmission, and/or unapproved disclosure of information that could result in harm to Ascensus or our clients.

- The position will foremost be a learning experience, and the accepted applicant will be mentored in many aspects of their responsibilities.
- You will spend most of your time actively learning how to analyze, implement, test, document and maintain new and current software applications.
- As part of scrum team, assist in estimating and planning throughout the software development life cycle
- Support people and process improvement strategies for the organization.
Experience, Skills, Knowledge Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or related experience preferred.
- Basic experience in one or more programming languages, technologies and software platforms, such as C# or Java
- Basic experience with HTML / CSS and JavaScript
- Basic experience with a relational database (MySQL, MSSQL, Oracle)
- Familiarity with object oriented development principles
- Desire to learn and work in an Agile engineering environment (test driven development, continuous integration and pair programming, etc.)
Nice to Have Skills
- Familiarity or Experience with good design principles (OOD, patterns, cohesion/coupling, S.O.L.I.D.)
- Familiarity or Experience with .NET or an MVC framework
- Familiarity or Experience with Crystal Report and SSRS
