Job Description


The Sr IT System Engineer - with a focus on Azure/Hybrid Cloud/VMware is responsible for configuration, maintenance, monitoring, and support of the Azure environment, Citrix infrastructure, and VMware ESXi 7.0x environments. This includes designing, installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, following best practices, and upgrading the environments. The Sr IT Systems Engineer must be well-versed in general infrastructure technology, with a good understanding of public and private cloud concepts such as Software as a Service (SaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS), and Hybrid cloud integration.

Duties:


  • Citrix management - participate in establishing platform standards, capacity planning, patching, upgrades, health checks, availability, and performance troubleshooting

  • Active Directory (AD) design and configuration: Group Policy Objects (GPOs), Security Groups, Domain Controllers (DCs), Domain Trusts, DNS and DHCP

  • VMware administration - responsible for configuration, maintenance, monitoring, and overall support of multiple VMware environments

  • Maintain and restore VM backups with a strong understanding of backup strategies

  • Schedule and perfrm hardware/software installations, upgrades, backups, and data restoration

  • Use network management tools to monitor the network to discover and solve network issues

  • Management of Microsoft Windows Server OS, Active Directory, and networking

  • Off-hours work (nights and weekends) is sometimes required

  • Participate in rotating on-call engineering support duties

  • Other duties as assigned

  • Regular and predictable attendance

  • Essential functions of this position are to be performed at a Company-designated office or field location

  • Understand and comply with the Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and other industry specific professional and ethical conduct standards, if applicable





Job Requirements


Qualifications:


  • 2 years of Azure experience is desired

  • Minimum of 5 years of Citrix experience is required

  • Minimum of 5 years of VMware experience required

  • VCP and CCA certification preferred, or equivalent experience is required

  • Experience with VMware & Citrix mission-critical IT BCP/DR testing and backup skills

  • Experienced with AD, DNS, DHCP, ICMP, SNMP, and server monitoring

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:


  • Strong knowledge of security and IAM / Role-Based Access Controls in Azure

  • Ability to manage Azure subscriptions, resource groups, implement Azure storage, deploy virtual machines, and configure virtual networks

  • Advanced understanding of Microsoft Azure technologies and service catalog including Microsoft 365, Azure AD, SQL as a Service and other Microsoft PaaS technologies

  • Working knowledge of automation including Azure and AWS CLI, or Python, PowerShell, and Bash scripting

  • Excellent Azure, VMware, vCenter, vSphere and VMware, Architecting and Implementation skills

  • In-depth technical knowledge of PC and platform operating systems, such as VMware, Citrix, MS Windows Server, MS-SQL Data Base server, and desktop operating systems

  • Experience with Hybrid Cloud Architecture, Azure Site Recovery (ASR), and Azure File Share is desired

  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills

  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • Ability to research networking issues and products, as required

  • Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail

  • Knowledge of fundamental network security and disaster recovery technologies is preferred

Competitive salary commensurate with experience ($97,700.00-$118,000.00). Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. MYR Group reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.Participation in the Company bonus programs for each plan year are subject to management recommendation and internal committee review.
