Job Description

Applies nursing process and theories, as well as principles of psycho-social and physical sciences, in assessing, planning, diagnosing, implementing, evaluating, and modifying patient care. Strives for quality outcomes and innovative practice in accordance with the California Nursing Practice Act and the Hospital/departmental policies. This position is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by self (or others who are under her/his direction) and for the delivery of care consistent with the ANA Code of Ethics and the ANA Bill of Rights for Nursing. The Clinical Nurse provides care in a collaborative manner with other disciplines to ensure optimal, individualized patient care and outcomes. All aspects of the Clinical Nurse's performance supports service excellence and a healing environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.

Must have recent one (1) year clinical nursing experience in area of specialty preferred.

Cancer (Infusion) Center

Must have recent one (1) year clinical nursing experience in area of specialty.

Dialysis- Inpt

Must have recent experience with CVVH, plasmapherisis, CAPDCCPD patients.

Infusion Center

Must have recent one (1) year clinical nursing experience in area of specialty.

Must have recent experience in oncology nursing and recent chemotherapy administration.

Palliative Care

Must have recent one (1) year clinical nursing experience in area of specialty.

Pre-Admission Services (PAS)

Strong assessment skills desired.

2 years Pre op/ PACU/ Case coordinator experience

Wound Care Clinic

One (1) year experience in outpatient wound care preferred.

License/Certifications

Registered Nurse License - California Board of Registered Nursing

Basic Life Support - American Heart Association

Group 2 - Department Specific Experience

Cardiac Rehabilitation

Experience and/or specialty training in cardiovascular rehabilitation and in critical care.

Knowledge of the pathophysiology and treatment of coronary artery disease.

Endoscopy

Two years of recent experience with moderate sedation, endoscopic procedures or similar experience preferred.

Med Surg/Orthopedic Services-LG

Must have recent one (1) year clinical nursing experience in area of specialty preferred.

Critical Care Unit

CCU-LG

Operating Room

OR-LG

Progressive Care Unit

Must have recent one (1) year clinical nursing experience in area of specialty.

Imaging Services (MV)

Three (3) years' experience in cardiac cath lab, interventional radiology, imaging, critical care and/or peri-operative setting.

Experience with moderate sedation.

Interventional Services (MV)

Three (3) years' experience in cardiac cath lab/interventional radiology.

Experience with moderate sedation.

Interventional Services (LG)

Interventional radiology, critical care or PACU experience strongly preferred.

Experience with moderate sedation.

Out Patient Surgery Department - Operating Room

May be assigned to multiple procedural areas, for example: Inpatient Surgery Department, Interventional Radiology and Endoscopy. This position will serve all age groups one year of age or greater. Must have the ability to communicate in English and to perform potentially complex speaking, reading, writing, and mathematics. Must be able to organize, prioritize and delegate appropriately.

Two (2) years recent intra-operative Operating Room experience in ambulatory setting with a variety of specialties

Experience with moderate sedation.

PCR (CCU/Progressive Care/Telemetry)

Must have one (1) year recent Critical Care and Telemetry experience.

PCR (Cardiac Monitoring Transport)

Must have one (1) year CCU experience.

PCR (Med/Surg)

Must have one (1) year medical/surgical experience.

PCR (Progressive Care/Telemetry)

Must have one (1) year recent ICU, PCU and/or Telemetry experience.

PCR (Med/Surg/Telemetry)

Must have one (1) year recent Telemetry and Med/Surg experience.

Pre-Op/Short Stay-MV

Must have recent Surgical, ED, Procedural or Outpatient Surgery experience, within the last 2 years.

One (1) year of Telemetry/Cardiac experience.

Pre-Admit/Short Stay-LG

Must have recent Surgical, ED, Procedural or Outpatient Surgery experience, within the last 2 years.

Telemetry

Telemetry/Stroke

Must have recent clinical nursing experience in area of specialty.

License/Certifications

Registered Nurse License - California Board of Registered Nursing

Basic Life Support - American Heart Association

Advanced Cardiac Life Support- American Heart Association

Group 3Department Specific Experience

Emergency Department (MV &LG)

Must have recent clinical nursing experience in area of specialty.

PACU (MV &LG)

Recent PACU experience preferred or must have two years of recent critical care/ ED experience

Out Patient Surgery Department - Pre-Op/PACU

May be assigned to multiple procedural areas, for example: Inpatient Surgery Department, Interventional Radiology and Endoscopy. This position will serve all age groups one year of age or greater. Ambulatory surgery center experience.

Two (2) years of recent acute PACU nursing experience

Experience with moderate sedation.

Must have one (1) year recent level III NICU and one (1) year of recent mother-baby unit experience.

NICU

Must have recent Level III NICU experience.

Mother/Baby (MV & LG)

Post Partum-LG

Must have recent clinical nursing experience in area of specialty.
