We are currently seeking candidates for an EHS Specialist to join our team in Stags' Leap Winery in Napa, CA.
What you will do:
Maintain company compliance with EHS related local, state and federal regulations
Ensure EHS inspections are conducted at all CA locations and file appropriate reports
Assist in the development and continuous improvement of the safety management system (ANSI Z10) including necessary policies and procedures to ultimate VPP Star status
Maintain and routinely test emergency preparedness plans
Provide emergency first aid or ensure emergency first aid is available
Lead emergency response teams for high risk facilities and locations
Manage the maintenance of all required safety and loss prevention records and documentation
Participate in Manager and Employee Safety Committee meetings
Assist in developing Safety related programs and policies, strong and demonstrable working knowledge in electrical safe work practices (ESWP), NFPA 70E and lockout/tag out (LO/TO) programs
Conduct inspections and audits of Agricultural vineyard operations.
Assist in the continued development of Agricultural Safety Programs
Review capital projects for EHS impacts
Conduct and document incident investigations
Perform or coordinate all necessary industrial hygiene and workplace monitoring, including maintenance and calibration of all instruments
Assist with maintenance of EHS records and documentation
Develop and deliver EHS training modules
Assist with maintenance of inventory, ordering and stocking of safety supplies
As applicable, maintain contact and compliance with insurance company consultants, Labor & Industries Representatives, law enforcement (both county and state), Department of Ecology (DOE), Factory Mutual Engineers (loss management, inspections, fire protection and new program planning), local fire departments/emergency service organizations for training, area physicians, hospitals, clinics and occupational medical case management personnel for treatment, referrals and other health issues, and other local, state and federal officers.
What you will bring:
Bachelor's Degree in EHS related field
2 + years previous safety experience in agricultural or manufacturing operations
Advanced certification such as a CIH, CSP is strongly desired
Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) license or emergency medical response background a plus
Experience conducting ergonomic assessments in manufacturing, agriculture or industrial settings
Experience in hearing conservation programs
Proven technical writing skills
Proven training skills
Prior Six Sigma Lean training desirable
Computer literacy (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, AutoCAD, Visio ) - able to demonstrate proficiencies
Familiarity with state and federal safety regulations
Bilingual capabilities (English/Spanish) a plus
Must have a strong and demonstrable knowledge of manufacturing, production, safety equipment (types and uses), construction, electric and building codes, Washington Administration Codes (WAC's), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) codes and standards, knowledge to interpret safety data sheet information
Completion of forklift safety and first responder instructor courses required
Working knowledge noise and air monitoring equipment
Must be able to become a certified Emergency Medical Technician or First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor
