Position Overview

The Internal Communications Specialist will support Community Coffee in creating and executing strategic internal communications content and campaigns that inform, engage, and inspire our 800+ employees. Reporting to the Corporate Communications Manager, you'll be responsible for growing, shaping, and maintaining the company's voice and reputation internally in alignment with core values and business goals. This role requires the ability to work in a team environment and build effective relationships with colleagues at all levels.

Function Related Activities/Key Responsibilities


  • Own the internal editorial calendar, ensuring that scheduled tasks and projects are successfully completed and strategically timed.
  • Manage and build the organization's internal communications channels including a statement of use for each channel, communication templates, process documentation, etc. Facilitate the delivery of communication through designated communication channels.
  • Partner with program owners across the business to understand their priorities, then build strategic communication plans to amplify their work, support their needs and strengthen company culture/values.
  • Continually evaluate effectiveness of internal communications strategy and optimize.
  • Participate in issues management and crisis communication.
  • May be asked to perform additional duties as necessary

Position Requirements

  • BS/BA in journalism, public relations, marketing, or related field AND at least three years of relevant experience in communications, employee engagement or a related field.
  • Proven experience in copywriting and editing.
  • Ability to quickly digest information and create clear communications.
  • Strong project management, organizational and relationship-building skills.
  • Familiarity with SharePoint and/or website design.
  • Experience capturing and editing photo and/or video content.
  • Must have a passion for coffee

  • Office Environment: Most of the duties of this position will be perform inside an office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet
