SOFTWARE TEST ENGINEER- 100% REMOTE

One of the leading healthcare/ life sciences companies in the U.S. is looking for a Bioinformatics Software Test Engineer to join their team. This role will sit 100% REMOTE but the clients sits in California so MUST be open to working PST hours. The team works with Next Gen Sequencing and diagnostic instruments (oncology, reproductive health, microbiome, SARS.) This person will be working on the bioinformatics pipeline and will be testing existing and new features on the Next Gen Sequencing applications/ platforms. This project will specifically be working with the client's Genexus next instrument.

SOFTWARE TEST ENGINEER REQUIREMENTS:

• 4+ years of Engineer background


• Python/ Perl scripting experience


• NGS (Next Gen Sequencing) experience


• Comfortable working with Linux computing environment


• Experience with writing test cases, root cause analysis, test automation, and validating features

• Java test development experience


• Selenium experience

• Analyze the requirements for data analysis pipelines and visualizations to support various applications (Oncology, Reproseq, Immuno-oncology, CarrierSeq etc) and translate them to software specifications.


• Help software development team to understand and design the complex Informatics and Data Visualization features. Work closely with developers to implement software features


• Write and execute test protocols to validate the features and data analysis pipelines


• Troubleshooting the data analysis pipeline and software issues.


• Check the correctness of output Compare output data with other equivalent systems


• Perform system performance profiling


• Perform test automation with Python and Java


• Prepare FDA submission documentation when needed


• Collaborate with cross functional team
