General Summary:

The Greenheck Group is very proud of its involvement with education and commitment to helping students further their education by partnering with part-time mechanical design, mechanical/engineering technology, and electro-mechanical students who are looking for hands-on experience while still attending school. Students are treated as "real" employees, as they understand gaining real life experience is key to a strong and successful career. We are actively looking for part-time designers to join our Machine Development Center (MDC) to gain invaluable experience when it comes to designing and working with our many engineers to build machinery from an idea to finished product.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

This role will primarily support the department's mechanical designers and engineers in projects related to the development and implementation of custom manufacturing machinery and automation. While flexibility in the role is key, this role can be focused around the one of the following initiatives:


  • Use Autodesk Inventor and our PLM software to construct CAD models and drawings of solutions originally engineered in a previous CAD software platform.

  • Assist in the project management side of automation and custom machine projects.

    • In addition to great exposure to the business this would include learning to leverage software such as Smartsheet and the collaboration and project management tools within Microsoft Office365.



Job Qualifications:


  • Preferred majors: Mechanical Design Engineering Technology or similar; and be within the second year of the program or similar.

  • Experience with Inventor in both a modeling and drawing environment is a must.

  • Understanding of what is necessary to make a manufacturable part drawing.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Has the ability to work collaboratively brainstorming quick-to-implement prototype fixturing concepts.

  • Previous experience with project management software is a nice to have.

  • Be able to provide a strong reference from an instructor in the Mechanical Design Engineering Technology program or similar.
