About the Position

VHB's Providence, RI office is seeking an entry-level Transportation Engineer to join their Transportation group. This is an excellent career opportunity for a motivated and talented individual to join a team of outstanding professionals. Responsibilities

• Assist in development transportation planning and engineering solutions for a multitude of transportation projects


• Transportation safety analyses


• Transportation planning studies


• Travel demand modeling


• Traffic impact studies


• Analysis and evaluation of traffic improvements


• Intersection and safety studies


• Prepare written documents, summarize information collected by others, and assemble reports


• Perform field data collection and other on-site project support activities


• Assist in projects involving simulation and signal optimization plans to maximize transportation system throughput (using SYNCHRO, CORSIM, VISSIM or related software)

Skills and Attributes

• Working knowledge of data analysis tools such as AutoCAD and Excel


• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills


• Team-oriented with strong capability to work independently


• A strong work ethic with the desire to learn and achieve


• The ability to work on multiple projects and work independently

Qualifications

• 0-3 years' experience.


• EIT preferred


• Degree in Civil Engineering or related field


• Able to obtain PE within 3 to 4 years desirable


• Experience with VISSIM and HCS/Synchro a plus
