The Counsel, Employment Law works closely with Agilent's Human Resources organization, Legal colleagues, and other functions to manage employment and commercial litigation, agency investigations as well as provide strategic labor and employment advice in the Americas. The position reports directly to the Associate Vice President, Managing Counsel, Americas Employment Law and is located at the Company's global headquarters in Santa Clara, California.


Responsibilities:



  • Provide legal advice to Human Resources and company leaders on highly sensitive employment matters, drive internal employee investigations, review Human Resources policies to ensure compliance, review the content and rollout of mandatory employment-law related training, and manage and leverage outside counsel for minimum cost and maximum output and impact.

  • Identify and educate key stakeholders on trends relating to the Human Resources function and proactively work with business and leaders on addressing areas of risk and concern.

  • Actively manage and provide strategic guidance on employment and commercial litigation, and government agency investigations.

  • Monitor state and federal employment legislation and governmental agency enforcement priorities and advise of developments that may affect the organization

  • Assist in the preparation and presentation of legal training to Human Resources and business leaders

  • Other duties as assigned
