OVERVIEW

As the Sr. Director/Director, Software Engineering, you will lead, inspire, and develop an engineering team focused on creating experience centric web and mobile business solutions in an agile environment.  A successful leader in this position will take a hands-on approach to solving problems, demonstrate technical depth, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and possess a superb communication style.  Additionally, if you have an innovative mindset, an uncanny ability to motivates others and a passion for the fine details you will be up for the challenge!

 

You will be working on eCommerce and Digital platforms for iMedia Brands and its customers.  You will be leading a team of engineers who are developing web and mobile solutions across a broad set of brands while building partnerships with marketing, creative, social, and merchandising teams.

 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage the software development lifecycle (SDLC), leverage best practices, and deliver high quality software


• Build, develop and lead a team of highly skilled software engineers


• Leverage an Agile mindset to manage and deliver upon business requirements and timelines


• Eliminate defects, barriers, and technology obstacles across our full stack of code and infrastructure


• Architect and design scalable, resilient, and reliable solutions using industry standard best practices


• Champion for innovative technologies to enhance our customer experience


• Challenge the status quo as a change leader by bring teams together, focusing on shared goals


• Ensure all software meets or exceeds development standards, framework guidelines, design patterns and security standards


• Other duties as assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS / KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Requirements:

·         15+ years of software engineering experience for web and/or mobile products

·         8+ years of leading software development teams

·         eCommerce experience with a track record of innovation

 

·         Proven ability to deliver high quality software on-time in an agile manner

·         Experience with test-driven automation and software test automation

·         Collaborative leader with a passion for developing others

·         Strong sense of ownership and problem-solving skills

·         Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present technical details across a variety of audiences

 

Desired Qualifications:

·         BS degree in computer science or equivalent experience

·         Full Stack .NET development experience with C#, ASP.NET MVC, .NET 4.0+ libraries, .NET Core

·         Experience with web front-end development: HTML, CSS, JQuery, Bootstrap, Angular, Vue, Knockout and JavaScript

·         Experience in building, consuming Web API / RESTful services

·         Native mobile app development experience with Swift and Kotlin

·         Strong knowledge working with remote data via REST and JSON

·         Extensive experience working in an agile environment

·         Knowledge of open source technologies

·         Ability to function in the role as a scrum master/project/program manager when required
