TransCore (TRN), a subsidiary of Roper Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: ROP) is seeking two (2) full-time System Administrators to join our team in Orlando, Florida.
Summary: The System Administrator provides day-to-day technical support installing operating system software, patches, and upgrades and performs hardware diagnostics, troubleshooting, maintenance, backup and recovery in a Windows 7,10, Windows Server, and Linux environment. Communicates highly technical information to both technical and nontechnical personnel. The System Administrator must be able to work on call, off hours, and rotational shifts as required in the support of IT operations.
Essential Duties:
Install operating system software, patches, and upgrades on Windows / Linux operating systems
Perform hardware diagnostics, troubleshooting, maintenance, backup/recovery of IT hardware and software
Perform intermediate network administration, intermediate storage management and troubleshooting
Maintain asset management and documentation
Knowledge and Skills:
Knowledge and experience with system administration; Windows 7,10, Windows Server, Linux
Knowledge in the following technologies: Windows, Hyper-V, Linux, Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, GPO, Scripting (PowerShell, Bash), SMTP, SNMP, HTTP, SANs (FC /iSCSI), CIFs/NFS, TCP/IP, VLANs, MDT, WDS
Windows server and desktop knowledge
Education and Experience:
Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, information technology or a related field
Minimum Required: High school diploma or general education degree (GED),
3 to 5 years of System Administration experience,
Ability to work on call, off hours, and rotational shifts, as required, in the support of IT operations
Experience supporting, implementing and/or administering networks and related systems,
Prior experience using Cisco, Hyper-V Clusters,
Ability to read, write, and speak English.
