The Supervision and Risk Management Division of the Bank is ultimately responsible for the safety and soundness of bank holding companies, savings and loan holding companies, and state-chartered member banks in the Tenth District. We have a challenging and rewarding career opportunity as a Product Owner role with Business Solutions Delivery Department. This department is charged with making bank supervision better through business driven products and services.

Job Summary:
For this position you should have experience maximizing business value and prioritizing technology solutions delivered by a technology team. Our Product Owners are organizationally aligned with the business lines supporting Product Management and are members of the technology solution delivery teams. In this role you will drive business outcomes used to carry out the Federal Reserve's mission of Bank Supervision through business-based product management and delivery of technology solutions.

Product Owners are engaged starting with strategic business planning to tactical product delivery, and build strong relationships with stakeholders and customers throughout the Federal Reserve System. You will work with senior leadership, information technology teams, and other internal and external partners. Product Owners utilize their skills to manage stakeholder expectations, articulate business value through requirements, provide active decision making, assess objective priorities, and evaluate assignments.

This is a Kansas City metropolitan area based employment opportunity.

Key Activities:


  • Work with business sponsors/stakeholders and IT staff to implement and manage the product life cycle. Specifically:

  • Ensures product vision is understood and effectively communicated to the technology delivery teams.

  • Advocates for business needs by applying a deep understanding of business processes, goals, and problems.

  • Ensures that business requirements and technical documentation are aligned with the business inputs by writing and/or approving business rules, user stories, integration dependencies, etc.

  • Responsible for ownership and prioritization of the technology solution delivery teams’ backlog(s) and stories.

  • Accountable for attesting that the delivered outputs align with business requirements.

  • Plays a significant role in quality control as the only team member empowered to accept stories as done.

Qualifications:


  • Relevant bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent combination of directly related education and/or experience.

  • Requires three or more years of experience in a combination of technology product management, or software development, and business line industry knowledge.

  • Knowledge of applicable software development life cycle methodologies (e.g. Agile SCRUM).

  • Incumbent must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, unless the Bank grants an accommodation based on a medical condition or sincerely held religious belief.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • CSPO certification is preferred.
