Summary: Lead all site procurement and logistics activities; including oversee and manage the procurement of raw materials and expense items. Actively pursue cost savings for the facility. This position reports to the General Manager of the site.


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Negotiates with vendors for raw materials at competitive pricing with on-time deliveries.

  • Manage purchases for expense items.

  • Establishes Purchasing Policies and ensures compliance

  • Prepares and issues purchase orders and change notices.

  • Analyzes market and delivery conditions to determine present and future material availability and prepares market analysis reports.

  • Reviews purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy.

  • Arranges for disposal of surplus materials

  • Develops new supply sources primary and secondary, for all essential commodities

  • Other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities: None


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field preferred

  • 2-5 years purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment or an equivalent of education and experience

  • Demonstrated leadership of sourcing and logistics department

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Overall knowledge of manufacturing processes.

  • Purchasing skills must include strong negotiation ability, knowledge of products purchased and factors affecting cost

  • Ability to analyze and interpret information

  • Ability to develop relationships, manage expectations and effectively communicate and present information on formal and informal basis to senior executives, managers, and vendors

  • Basic computer and keyboarding skills

  • Manage confidential, competitive bidding process in an ethical manner

  • Oracle experience preferred

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Physical Demands:

  • Employee is regularly required to talk and hear.

  • Employee is regularly required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move 50 pounds.

  • Employee is regularly required to walk for 2 hours a day.

  • Employee is regularly required to see and observe small handwriting, labels, and components.

  • The Position requires the employee to be on-site during scheduled shift to perform daily duties and responsibilities.

  • Requires daily face-to-face interaction with employees on production line.

Work Environment:

  • The employee will normally work in a temperature-controlled office environment, with frequent exposure to electronic office equipment. During visits to areas of operations, may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions. Is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.
