Basic Qualifications

 

Education/Training:  A B.S. or B.A. degree with emphasis in data analytics or a related field normally required, or a high school diploma or equivalent with specialized data analytics or Banking services experience and training; obtain and maintain appropriate Bank Product Knowledge Certification. 

 

Skill(s): Proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills; above average interpersonal relations, communicative and effective presentation skills; advanced proficiency in analyzing, interpreting, and
implementing various strategies; innovative with creative thinking skills, strong organizational and time management; strong computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office Suite; ability to organize data into charts, graphs and
presentation decks; report writing software; proficient analytical skills and problem solving capabilities; visual and auditory skills.  Ability to stand, stoop, reach, and lift items weighing 25 lbs. or less; valid driver’s license

 

Experience:  A minimum of two (2) to three (3) years of experience in financial services positions preferred, or one (1) to two (2) years related data analytics experience normally
required.

 

 

General Responsibilities

 

Responsible for researching and obtaining various sources of financial data and performs in-depth analysis of trends and forecasts in support of strategic and tactical decisions made by bank management.  Prepares detailed analytic reports validating hypothetical positions, providing conclusions and making presentations of findings to various management groups and project committees.

 

Essential Duties

 

1.      Research and maintain data from a variety of industry, peer data bases and financial trend sources to support data analytics reporting.

 

2.      Participate in discussions with management committees and project teams on various strategies and tactical objectives of bank operations and profitability
modeling; including expense and income performance, householding, product and channel performance and competitive trends, occupancy forecasting, expense
control and other key performance indicators. 

 

3.      Integrates multiple data sources and provides data analytics and comparative analysis of general complexity to support management discussion and decisions.  Applies general statistical weightings and
other computations to validate conclusions.

 

4.      Utilize knowledge of Bank data and Bank processes to mine for important facts and statistics to utilize in analysis and creating reports

 

5.      Continually monitors financial market and industry trends; and creates own written analysis and reports to findings to management.

 

6.      Build effective graphs and charts to summarize data and makes formal presentations to various management committees and project teams.  Participates in discussions and provides
follow-up analysis.
 

  7.      Provide and presents reports and suggestions to management on data sources to maintain managements knowledge of external trends and competitive analysis.

 

8.      Works with internal audit, external audit, and the examiners when necessary.

 

9.      Coordinates specific work tasks with other personnel within the division as well as with other departments and divisions to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of information.

 

10.  Abides by the current laws and organizational policies and procedures designed  and implemented to promote an environment which is free of harassment and other forms of illegal discriminatory
behavior in the work place.

 

11.   Cooperates with, participates in, and supports the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety and soundness and the Bank's compliance with all regulatory requirements, e.g. Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), Bank Secrecy Act   (BSA), Equal Credit Opportunity Act, etc.

 

12.  Reports pertinent information to the immediate supervisor as requested, or per an established schedule; compiles information as necessary or as directed and provides data to appropriate bank personnel.

 

13.  Responds to inquiries relating to his/her particular area, or to requests from customers, other bank personnel, etc., within given time frames and within established policy.

 

14.  Performs other duties as assigned.
