Job Description:

JPMorgan Chase's Commercial Risk team, will host a Virtual Career Networking and Information session on Wednesday, October 20th at 12pm CST/ 1pm EST.

During this session you will hear from Commercial Risk Real Estate leadership to gain a better understanding of the department, learn about the work their teams do day-to-day, and gain insight into some of the key requirements for open roles.

And yes, there will be HR Representatives in attendance to discuss the application process and next steps.

Commercial Banking is focused on helping our clients succeed and making a positive difference in our communities. We provide credit and financing, treasury and payment services, international banking and real estate services to clients including corporations, municipalities, institutions, real estate investors and owners, and nonprofit organizations.

Risk Management helps the firm understand, manage and anticipate risks in a constantly changing environment. The work covers areas such as evaluating credit worthiness and understanding regulatory changes. Risk Management provides independent oversight and maintains an effective control environment.

Commercial Term Lending (Multifamily) provides commercial real estate owners and investors with term loans ranging from $1MM to $25MM+. As the nation's #1 multifamily lender, we offer clients full-service real estate financing products and services that are unparalleled in the market.


  • Perform necessary credit analysis, due diligence, and review of documents for new commercial real estate transactions with emphasis on multi-family property lending.
  • The position requires solid credit knowledge, property valuation, and financial analytic experience, coupled with knowledge of the Southern California Northern California, Pacific Northwest and Denver real estate markets.

Basic Requirements

  • Understanding of multi-family real estate property valuations and cash flow analysis
  • Market research tools for commercial real estate (i.e. CoStar)
  • Strong financial analysis skills including analysis of property operating statements for variety of property types, and personal financial statements of individual sponsors
  • Computer proficiency skills in Excel (financial modeling), Microsoft Word, PowerPoint
  • Use data analysis techniques to develop insights/recommendations to management
  • Standards, practices, methodologies, and regulatory requirements relative to the finance/accounting disciplines
  • Standards relating to the appropriate documentation of work activities
  • Understanding of the full breadth of J.P. Morgan products and service offerings

  • Establish and maintain effective relations with internal business partners including sales, processing, closing and legal
  • Identify issues in a timely manner, formulate and propose effective solutions
  • Understand and interpret financial/performance data
  • Become conversant with the policies, standards, procedures, and regulations applicable to the assigned work unit in a timely manner
  • Concisely express ideas and convey technical information in written, oral, and electronic communication
  • Thorough understanding of risk impact and consequence of errors in formulating decisions
  • Interpret results and formulate effective recommendations

Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in accounting, finance, economics or real estate
  • 2-10 years direct experience in commercial real estate lending or 5+ years of other banking/finance experience
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment while maintaining a high level of attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal/written communication and problem-solving skills
  • Strong financial analysis skills including property cash flows, property valuation, and personal financial statements
  • Understanding of regional markets, including prevailing municipal regulations
