Position Objective:

This position reports to the Advanced Engineering Shop Supervisor and is responsible for performing day-to-day facilities activities such as shipping and receiving, warehouse organization, building maintenance, stocking of supplies, general facilities clean up, snow/ice removal, and AME Shop inventory control. The Facilities Technician will also be required to perform various maintenance duties on facility and equipment and modify, clean, disassemble, assemble, and test machinery and equipment under the direction of the Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Shop Supervisor.

Key Accountabilities:

* Coordinate logistics and schedule pickups and receivedeliveries.
* Ensureoperation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements.
* Maintainsafe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
* Disassemble and assemble new or modified mechanical and electrical components for industrial machinery or testing equipment.
* Fabricateand assemblestructural metal products, such as framework for machinery and metal parts for production machinery according to job order, verbal instructions, and/or blueprints.
* Could be required to operate fabricating equipment, such as welders, brakes, shears, CNC Plasma Cutters, saws, drill press, milling machine, and lathe.
* Set up and conduct tests of complete units and components under operational conditions to investigate proposals for improving equipment performance.
* Coordinate waste disposal.
* Perform facilities maintenance tasks including facility Air Compressor, Pump, and Dryer.
* Assist team members with special projects as needed under supervisor discretion.

Position Requirements:


  1. High School Diploma or equivalent, technical degree preferred;

  2. Work from engineering drawings, electrical schematics, shop sketches or written instructions;

  3. Ability to maintain inventory of materials, spare parts, equipment and hand tools;

  4. Ability to use hand and power tools for mechanical and electrical tasks;

  5. Using computers and computer systems (including hardware and software) to program, design, set up functions, enter data, or process information;

  6. Basic Mechanical troubleshooting and repair;

  7. Basic Pneumatic and Electrical troubleshooting and repair;

  8. Must be able to use power tools for crate building and shipment preparation;

  9. Forklift Operation;

  10. Scissor Lift Operation;

  11. Floor Scrubber Operation.
