Job Description:


JOB DESCRIPTION:


The Dossier Chemist will work on raw material diversifications to provide savings and to secure L'Oreal raw material portfolio.


This position reports to the Leader of Raw Material Quality.



JOB TASKS:


*Create & update Dossier Types for potential diversifications (includes creation of an Expertise, Comparison Table, and Analysis), to be easily shared with Q2I offices worldwide
*Conduct a literature search using internal (MP'indus, MP-Net, Milor, etc) and external web resources (PCPC, pharmacopeia, etc) to define the raw material and key parameters that are important to describe the raw material (such as physical/organoleptic specifications, IR spectrum, GC profile, impurities, and any other specific analytical parameters to the raw materials).
*Interact with different groups (Regulatory, Safety, Sustainability, Legal, etc) to ensure quality of raw materials within out codebook are maintained.
*Identify the test methods to be used to measure the analytical parameters, using existing L'Oreal resources. Adjust the test methods or develop new test methods when no existing methods apply.
*Validate the acceptable ranges of some key parameters by conducting raw material analyses.
*Review new supplier DT packages, communicate feedback to the suppliers, and send out diversification proposals at the completion of the project
*Support the chemist(s) working on the raw material analysis by conducting some of the analytical tests when the work volume increases


* Perform testing of final product using HPLC and various physio- chemical methods used for stability and behavior studies on the bulk part


*Maintain accurate records, reports, spreadsheets , entry and maintenance of electronic notebooks and communicate the results to the supervisor on a regular basis.


*Support Purchasing with DT Package reviews within a reasonable timeframe, considering the complexity of the raw materials.
*Maintain safe, clean work area and adhere to the L'Oreal's policies and procedures.
*Drive actions for the lab to be GMP compliant.


*Other duties as instructed by manager and the demands of the business



REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:


BS/ MS in Chemistry or related physical science with 1- 3 years experience
