Job Description:

VPI Field Service Technician -  Los Angeles

GPRS is looking for a self-motivated, driven individual to join its Video Pipe Inspection (VPI) team. This position will assist Project Managers with all required utility location, video pipe inspection and mapping tasks. Candidate will deliver excellent service while ensuring the safety, quality, and accuracy in all work tasks. Candidate must live within or be willing to move within 50 miles of Los Angeles.

• Candidate must be able to be certified in each piece of equipment and perform function tests to ensure equipment is operating effectively. 


• Experience with GPRS (and/or Master Locators) in Video Pipe Inspection is a plus but training will be given to those without this experience who can learn this job.   


• Ability to learn universal marking systems and field delineation color codes. 


• Ability to use different types of marking devices and understand their proper application. 


• Ability to learn industry symbols used to denote buried and above ground facilities. 


• Possess skills in Microsoft Office including Word and Excel


• Good written and verbal communication skills.


• Good mechanical ability. 


• Demonstrated team player. 


• Very safety and quality conscious. 


• Able to travel overnight up to 30% of the time. 


• Possess effective communication skills; both oral and written


• Must be physically capable of carrying up to 60 pounds


• Work / walk on concrete and/or walk for long periods of time


• Are comfortable working on small to large construction sites


• Must have the ability to drive the company provided vehicle to multiple job sites per day 


• Must live within 50 miles of Los Angeles
