The Associate Manager, Procurement - Surfactants/Other Raw Materials is a key role in Procurement Portfolio to support delivery of cost, cash, innovation, and other value drivers. You'll be responsible for data gathering and analysis for projects, contract management, new product development, supply risk management, capacity expansion alternatives, commercial negotiations, strategic analysis, and other special project requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Support Global Surfactants and Other Chemicals Portfolio across all Business Units


  • Owns the development and implementation of the Surfactants/Other Raw Materials Procurement strategy for the Americas. Provides input to and aligns regional strategies to the Global Surfactants/Other Raw Materials Procurement strategy


  • Run cost, spend, and market analytics for portfolio strategy and projects


  • Accountable for the delivery of cost savings and working capital improvement in the Americas regions for spend category


  • Works cross-functionally to unlock cost savings, mitigate inflation, mitigate risk and contribute to increased delivered and operating profit


  • Manage contract terms and compliance, including global pricelists, FX, rebates, and payment terms


  • Review ongoing cost savings projects and support on time implementation


  • Support request for quotes, supplier identification, selection, and consolidation activities


  • Manage new product development requests and hand-off between Procurement Portfolio and Procurement Operations


  • Support, execute and ideate data reviews and analyzes looking for value


  • Participate in and potentially lead supplier negotiations


  • Develop a deep level of understanding of the supply base and identify areas of opportunity to drive cost, innovation, risk management and other value-added elements of a supplier relationship


  • Owns supplier relationships and supplier performance for area of responsibility and acts as escalation for supplier issues


  • Maintain and enhance internal relationships with key stakeholdersCreate and execute resilience strategies for high priority materials


Required Skills / Experience / Competencies


  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, Engineering or related discipline or military experience considered in lieu of education requirement


  • 5+ years of work experience in Supply Chain, Procurement, or related field


  • 2+ years of ERP experience (SAP preferred)


  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States


Preferred Skills / Experience / Competencies


  • 2+ years of experience in Consumer-Packaged Goods industry


  • Multi-regional category leadership experience and cross-cultural awareness


  • Strong Microsoft Office Skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)


  • Analytical skills and understanding of source data


  • Excellent planning and organization skills


  • Manage complexity and ambiguity

Job Requirements


  • Travel up to 15 percent


  • Remote work is available once a week for eligible employees
