Senior Systems Architect at Cigna in Bloomfield, Connecticut

Job Description:

In this role you will work with business and product teams to influence solutions involving AWS Cloud, distributed and mainframe systems architecture.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for delivering or reviewing System Architecture (SA) solutions for a specific application or a suite of applications.


• Provides technical expertise through a hands-on mentoring approach to teams and projects, developing capabilities via the use of new technology and products and maintaining a deep level of involvement with the agile development teams.


• Contributes to the organizations application roadmaps, and supports EA product and capability roadmaps which impact broadly across a group of systems and products.


• Supports engineering and delivery in building and maintaining applications conformant to standards, architectures, and technologies.


• Ensures solutions fit within project schedules and costs and provide optionality if necessary.


• Supports sizing efforts within the application domain assigned and provides leadership to organize and facilitate sizing efforts provided by the team, helping to insure end to end solutions meet the business need.


• Presents solution, logical design direction, or technology recommendation to the EA solution review board, and Cloud Center of Excellence.


• Assists in creating and maintaining best practices, deliverables, and processes for the System Architecture team.

Required Experience / Qualifications:

• Experienced in diverse technology stacks including AWS or OpenShift Cloud.


• Previous experience as a System Architect or Solution Architect preferred for 2+ years preferred, and the ability to create strategic solutions.

Desired Experience / Qualifications:

• Experience in and certification in AWS cloud, including Developer or Solutions Architect

This role is WAH/Flex which allows most if not all of the work is to be performed at home. Employees must be fully vaccinated if they choose to come onsite.
