The purpose of the Certified Medicine Aide (CMA) position is to administer medications via oral, topic, and suppository route, under the supervision of the Nurse Supervisor. Administers medications in conformance with recognized standards established by the CMA program in the State of Maryland.
The CMA observes and reports symptoms, side effects of medications, and condition of residents to the Charge Nurse and/or ADON. Accurate records of treatments and medications will be maintained by the CMA following facility policy and procedures.
Responsible for accurate and timely delivery of medications as prescribed by the physician.
Experience working with an electronic medical record system
Knowledge of medication delivery, administration, contraindications and possible side effects.
Experience with geriatric population who may require additional prep, delivery and patience.
Provide services of resident care including ADLs and personal care as needed.
All team members are required to answer call lights, assist residents with requests and aid families as needed.
