The Commercial Systems Specialist (CSS) role requires collaboration and active teaming with other sales team members to promote the sale of VRF and Rooftop Packaged Equipment systems by providing related technical expertise to region while also being responsible for their own annual sales growth. 

How you will do it


  • Under direction of Local HVAC Sales Manager, individual will be responsible for managing a territory, consulting with Engineering firms and other commercial business that will have a need for VRF and or rooftop packaged systems.

  • In collaboration & coordination with Local Market salespeople assigned to the customers, builds partnering relationships directly with assigned Consulting Engineer and Design-Build Contractor accounts to support basis of design (BOD) efforts, evaluating existing systems, trade-offs based on costs and lifecycle costs, by providing estimates, bids, etc., within guidelines and customer’s timelines.  

  • Coordinates and participates in account management to support with the objective of promoting regions growth as it relates to the VRF and rooftop systems, will work closely with the sales team putting together strategic sales plans to optimize coverage, acquire new accounts, and penetrate existing accounts. Using Salesforce CRM to document all activities, account plans, and overall updating and maximizing on time management.

  • Consistently drives specifications towards Johnson Controls offerings with consulting engineers and design build contractors, not only earning Basis of Design, but also influencing written specifications to provide value to the customers and differentiation from competitors. 

  • Supports the field in identifying, recommending, and implementing programs, tools, and support that will enable the sales growth of the assigned market.

  • Develops relationships with internal support, operations, and administrative staff to ensure customer satisfaction, and quickly addresses issues. Trains and mentors inside sales team to drive customer satisfaction.

  • Champion’s product launches within the Local Market in conjunction with Product Business Unit (PBU) launch activities

  • Acts as the primary Subject Matter Expert on VRF and Rooftop systems offerings in Local Market and supports salespeople with customer education and presentations.

Develops a solid understanding of the market, while also remaining current on industry standards, building codes, best practices for design of HVAC Equipment and Control systems, participates in professional organizations, and industry networking within the community, ultimately building a reputation as a subject matter expert in the local community.

What we look for

Required


  • High School or equivalent Technical School degree.

  • Three (3) years minimum HVAC small commercial units or adjecent  industry.

  • Project Management experience.

  • Ability to builds relationships with customers at manager/director level

  • Ability to understand needs and offer solutions.

  • Pricing ability.

  • Set business parameters

  • Ability to service and support existing customer accounts in the assigned geographic area.

Preferred


  • Bachelor’s in Engineering or HVAC systems
