Human Resources Business Partner

As a Human Resources Business Partner, you will report to the Director of Talent Acquisition and Development. This role will partner with business leaders to develop and execute HR strategies focused on talent acquisition, talent management, organizational effectiveness, workforce planning, and employee engagement. The ideal candidate will contribute at both hands-on and strategic levels to deliver best in class partnership with our leaders.

What you'll do:


  • The ability to understand business goals as well as design and implement new approaches, to effect continual improvements in business objectives, productivity, and development of HR within the Stevens community.

  • Accountable for driving HR vision, execution of the division’s strategy while aligned with Stevens Strategic Plan.

  • Develop a strong understanding of Stevens so you can be proactive and support, leaders, managers, and HR colleagues in creating the best place to work for all of our employees.

  • Support our Leaders and Hiring Managers throughout Stevens in all talent activities to ensure the right talent in the right place at the right time. Coach leaders throughout the hiring process.

  • Lead and support both HR and business initiatives to advance Stevens Strategic Plan.

  • Review and analyze data to identify trends and recommend solutions to improve performance, retention, and engagement.

  • Coach managers to build leadership capabilities and identify development needs and address those needs through learning experiences.

  • Monitor, and create content & learning analytics via LinkedIn Learning.

Who you are:


  • You have a track record of strong business partnerships within a dynamic, fast paced environment. Higher education experience is a plus.

  • You are a strategic thinker who takes initiative and ownership and brings a proactive approach to your work.

  • You have broad experience in Human Resources and working cross functionally with all areas of HR to build best in class practices.

  • You have experience translating the priorities of the business and integrating the HR value proposition and strategies to meet business needs.

  • You have the ability to influence change, as well as effectively deal with change management initiatives.

  • You are a self-starter, results oriented, and track record of putting ideas into practice and assessing the results.

  • You are a strong team player.

The ideal candidate:


  • Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or similar relevant field.

  • Minimum 4+ years of progressive and direct HR Business Partner experience.

  • Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple simultaneous priorities.

  • Proven track record of success within multiple HR functions including talent acquisition and performance management. Experience with Learning development, compensation, and or benefits a plus.

  • Impeccable communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.

  • Experience in fast paced environments, with a collaborative approach.

  • You can build strong & trustful relationships with the people you work with.

Where you'll be

We are located in Hoboken, New Jersey and you will be eligible for a flexible work schedule.

Compensation

Grade 7, salary commensurate with experience.
