Summary:

The primary purpose of this job is to develop, supervise, administer and improve the organization’s facility wide environmental, health and safety process(es) in compliance with ATI, OSHA, and EH&S regulations.

Essential Functions:


* Engage with all levels of the workforce to build trust, increase engagement, and lower risk tolerance through ATI’s standard safety process
* Promote and ensure the health and safety of employees through responsive and proactive safety programs, protecting employees from incidents and environmental hazards and ensuring compliance with regulations; establishes target areas and long-range accident prevention and cost control objectives
* Act as consultant to management in health, ergonomic and safety related issues; determine if deficiencies exist; develop, recommend and implement appropriate and responsive corrective protocols, procedures and measures
* Lead the EHS committees and coordinate the activities of the committee members
* Lead the investigation of incidents to determine cause and preventative measures; Prepare necessary reports and documentation
* Inspect work areas and machinery for compliance with OSHA and all compliance regulations
* Develop, conduct and maintain EHS orientation programs; Train staff in EHS awareness and compliance requirements
* Schedule all EHS and compliance training activities for the facility; Conduct training as required
* Maintain all EHS and compliance records for employees within the facility
* Ensures the availability, reliability, and readiness of safety and fire prevention equipment, protective clothing (PPE) and devices, and first aid supplies
* Keeps apprised of developments in federal and state EHS regulations likely to affect the company
* Identifies those developments that may have application to the company's operations and work environment
* Directly implement corrective actions and improvements in the manufacturing areas throughout the plant
* Ensure all ATI Policies and Procedures are followed throughout the facility
* Responsible for Environmental Management System
* Champion, mentor, and facilitate the task standardization processes
* Integrate leadership skills with lean principals and expertise to guide and train employees at all levels of the organization in lean and continuous improvement
* Identify and eliminate waste in processes and practices
* Facilitate 5s events and train employees regarding the benefits of an organized work space
* Facilitate Kaizen events and train employees regarding the benefits of a standardized and disciplined approach to the job
* Assist in the resolution of production, equipment, and system problems, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
* Assist in the revision and development of standard work
* Other duties as assigned

* Bachelors degree in safety, safety engineering, facilities, or related area, or equivalent years' experience
* Minimum 5 years of related experience
* Demonstrated experience in conducting EH&S training
* Experience as an EH&S professional and/or EMT
* Experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
* Knowledge of ISO 14000 and 45001 understanding
* Strong verbal, written, analytical and employee relations skills
* Detail-oriented, organized, and exhibit a strong sense of accountability
* Competency in Windows-based software such as Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word
* Ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization and work independently as well as in a team setting
