The Job Opportunity and Duties…

The Department of Youth Services provides stability, support, safety, and security for all employees of DYSThe Behavioral Healthcare Provider 2 will provide valuable experience and knowledge to the Department of Youth Services workforce.

DYS is seeking a Behavioral Healthcare Provider 2 to assist in facility functions. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader with a solid background.

Specifically, the Behavioral Healthcare Provider 2 will:           


  • Experienced in Behavioral Healthcare

  • Provides direction to lower level Behavioral Healthcare Providers

  • Evaluates performance of lower level staff

  • Provides interventions for acute, more complex cases

  • Ensure that care provided is in compliance with federal and state regulations

  • Exhibit strong organization skills

  • Implement DYS policies and procedures

  • Serves as a member of treatment teams, training session, and policy review

  • Coordinates admission, assessment, evaluation and treatment plans of youth care

  • Provides treatment planning, individual, group and family intervention/sessions

  • Establish and maintain working relationship with facilities and support services

  • Attends meetings, court hearings, conferences and workshops as needed

  • Collaborate and provide guidance to division leadership 

  • Possess strong work ethic and dependability

Leadership, professionalism, creativity, strong interpersonal communication skills, good judgment of people and situations, change agent, excellent customer service, and solution driven.

The ideal candidate is adaptable and able to work in a fast-paced environment with internal and external customers.  The candidate must be able to determine solutions and positive outcomes



  • Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor (LICDC) by Ohio Chemical Dependency Counselor’sCredentialing Board.
    Or Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) by Ohio Counselor, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy Board.

    - Or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) by Ohio Counselor, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy Board.

    -or Licensed Independent Marriage and Family Therapist (IMFT) by the Ohio Counselor, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy Board.

    - Or Licensed Registered Nurse with certificate of authority as a Clinical Nurse Specialist or Certified Nurse Practitioner with specialty certification in Mental Health or Psychiatry as issued by Ohio Board of Nursing .
