Environmental Service Technician -Part-Time (Mare Island, VA Clinic)

Easterseals Superior CA is hiring a part-time janitorial job coaching position to train individuals with disabilities to fulfill custodial responsibilities for a contract at the Veterans Administration (VA) Mare Island clinic in Vallejo. Two (2) weeks of initial, on-site training provided. Position includes medical benefits, paid sick leave, vacation, holiday and Health & Welfare benefits!!
40 hours weekly ; 8.0 hour shift daily, M-F, from 12:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.

Serve as an advocate and job coach for individuals with disabilities.
Attend initial 2-week training; special shift is M-F; 12:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.
Work alongside crew members to ensure quality work, duties include:

Sweep, dust mop, wet mop and vacuum
High dust, polish furniture and damp dust
Clean restrooms and disinfect daily
Remove and dispose trash daily
Remove and dispose bio-hazardous waste
Strip, seal and wax tile floors

Assess Work Crew individuals on their strengths and areas of improvement and make recommendations at the individual's Individual Service Plan (ISP) meeting on goals and objectives.
Conduct ISP meetings and ensure all paperwork is submitted timely.
Responsible for completing inventory of supplies and equipment, quality assurance, monthly consumer progress notes, monthly consumer safety and skill training, etc.
Responsible for monitoring contract requirements and ensuring quality compliance is met on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
Provide exceptional customer services, both internally and externally.

Education and Experience:

Minimum of a high school diploma or GED is recommended; and/or
(1) year full-time experience working in a custodial position.

Working Knowledge of:

Disabilities and related characteristics of individuals served by the agency.
Effective interpersonal communication skills.
Janitorial and landscape equipment including proper usage, safety requirements, repair and maintenance needs, and related supplies.
Proper, safe use and handling of cleaning agents, chemicals, floor waxes, and other cleaning components.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations, position requires:

California Driver's License, proof of liability insurance, and a good driving record.
Fingerprint clearance through the Department of Justice.
Military fingerprint clearance through the Department of Justice..
Pre-placement physical and back/lifting assessment.
Adult CPR with AED and Standard First Aid certifications.
Hepatitis B series vaccination.
Proof of acceptable TB test result within the twelve (12) months prior to hire.
Evidence of full COVID-19 vaccination status as documented by Vaccination Record and includes the passing of two (2) weeks from the last required dose.
