About the role:

Responsible for the Filling Operations assuring that the production demand is met in a compliant and safe manner by leading a team of direct and indirect resources while maintaining the operations running in a cost-effective manner within the department's budget.

How you will contribute:


  • Lead a cross-functional Manufacturing Unit team to drive performance to meet overall goals for the manufacturing area.

  • Ensure products are provided to customers on time so that product quality, yield, operating costs and process efficiencies are met.

  • Identify/prioritize/provide resources to assist the department director to meet the annual operating plan and budgetary commitments.

  • Supervise the daily manufacturing operations across a department or multiple departments.

  • Emphasize training and implement control systems on the shift or multiple shifts to eliminate product discrepancies.

  • Commit to employee feedback and developmental processes.

  • Interfaces with the other managers/customers to ensure our quality commitments are met.

  • Ensure consistency in personnel policy administration across the plant.

  • Responsible for the preparation of the budget and operating within the operational budget.

  • Responsible for assuring compliances to all regulatory requirements - FDA, OSHA, OFCCP, EPA, etc.

  • Adheres to all environmental, health and safety SOPs, equipment, policies and procedures, including any department specific requirements.

  • Perform analytical review, recommend, and implement corrective action for any exception condition.

  • Work with divisional personnel in support of projects within areas of responsibility.

  • Support plant-wide strategic plan programs and activities.


What you bring to Takeda:

  • Typically requires bachelor's degree, preferably in science, engineering or other related technical field. 8+ years of related experience with 3+ in a management role.

  • Outstanding management and leadership skills. Must have a demonstrated track record of successfully executing within manufacturing environment supporting manufacturing/production issues, in an FDA-regulated manufacturing environment.

  • Ability to manage activities of departments through subordinates who exercise full supervision in terms of cost, methods, and employees.

  • Ability to interpret and analyze statistical data and information and financial reports, understand and resolve technical difficulties, manage multiple priorities in a manufacturing plant setting, be resourceful in a large manufacturing department.

  • Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills; able to efficiently communicate with cross-functional teams and management on recommended course of action.

  • Demonstrated ability to resolve highly complex issues in a timely manner

  • Proficient computer skills and be experienced using MS Office software (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).

  • Ability to make decisions on the operational processes and effectively address unplanned events as they arise.

  • Ability to analyze complex problems or situations and leverage critical thinking to provide path forward.

  • Interface with internal engineering/technical experts and external technical representatives.

  • Contacts to interact with but not limited to are: Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing Science, Supply Chain and Manufacturing Support both local and external.

  • In addition, manage relationships with Vendors and Consultants.

Important Considerations

At Takeda, our patients rely on us to deliver quality products. As a result, we must follow strict rules in our manufacturing facilities to ensure we are not endangering the quality of the product. In this role, you may:


  • Work in a controlled environment requiring special gowning and wear protective clothing over the head, face, hands, feet and body. This may include additional hearing protection for loud areas.

  • Need to remove all make-up, jewelry, contact lenses, nail polish and/or artificial fingernails while in the manufacturing environment.

  • Work in a cold, wet environment.

  • Work multiple shifts, including weekends, or be asked to work supplemental hours, as necessary.

  • Work around chemicals such as alcohol, acids, buffers and Celite that may require respiratory protection.

  • Ability to travel and spend training time at other site(s) (up to 25% of time for first year).

  • Must be able to lift, push, pull and carry up to 50 lbs.

  • In general, the position requires a combination of sedentary work and walking around observing conditions in the facility.

  • If required, should be able to work in controlled environments requiring special gowning. Will be required to follow gowning requirements and wear protective clothing over the head, face, hands, feet and body. Some clean room and cool/hot storage conditions.

  • May visit loud areas that requires hearing protection and other protective equipment

  • Must be able to work extended hours as required

  • Spend time on the shop floor within the operations,
