Posted in General Business 30+ days ago.

Type: Full-Time

Job Description:

The College of Technology is among the fastest-growing colleges at the University of Houston, a Carnegie-designated Tier One public research university. We are looking for highly dedicated scholars, researchers, and teachers to help us prepare the future's technologists, scientists, and business leaders.

The Human Development and Consumer Sciences (HDCS) Department in the College of Technology at the University of Houston seeks to hire a tenure-track faculty member at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor rank for the Human Resource Development (HRD) program. The faculty member would begin on September 1, 2022.

Given the important focus on research at a Tier One institution, the HRD program is seeking a scholar who can contribute to the success of our undergraduate and graduate programs by (1) building and maintaining a productive research program to include high-quality publications, external funding, and professional presentations, (2) teaching undergraduate and graduate HRD courses (e.g., leadership development, e-learning and talent management), and (3) participating in activities that further develop the HRD program and the HDCS department. The HRD program consists of one undergraduate program and a graduate program with two options (Professional and Executive).

The University of Houston, with one of the most diverse student bodies in the nation, seeks to recruit and retain a diverse community of scholars. Given this, a candidate should exhibit the potential for exceptional research, excellence in teaching, and a clear commitment to enhancing the diversity and inclusiveness of the faculty and students.

Candidates should have a doctorate degree in HRD or expect to complete their doctoral program by July, 2022. Applications should include a letter of interest, names, and email addresses for three letters of recommendation (referees will be contacted via the online system to submit letters directly), a current curriculum vita, two representative publications, unofficial transcripts, and evidence of excellence in teaching.

The University of Houston is responsive to the needs of dual-career couples.

The University of Houston is an equal opportunity and affirmative action employer. Minorities, women, veterans, and persons with disabilities are encouraged to apply.

  • Candidates should have a doctorate degree in HRD or expect to complete their doctoral program by July, 2022.
  • Candidates should exhibit the potential for exceptional research, excellence in teaching, and a clear commitment to enhancing the diversity and inclusiveness of the faculty and students.
