Position Pay Range:

This range represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary based on factors including but not limited to geographical location and experience.


CSG Field Service R&D is building a new team focused on enhancing analytics and AI capabilities within our Field Service Management (FSM) products. The Data Engineer Sr, reporting to the Sr. Mgr of Analytics and Product Insights, will design and build scalable data pipelines that can extract, transform and load data from cloud and on-premise data sources using SQL and Cloud Big Data technologies for business/operational use cases. The Data Engineer Sr. will support and work closely with Data Scientists, Analytics Developers, and Software Engineers to optimize and reengineer model code to be modular, efficient and scalable, and to deployable to production.

Position Details:


% of Time Analyze and Build:

  • Develop an expert understanding of the FSM products, stakeholders, and data usage

  • Design, develop and maintain data pipelines including solutions for data collection, management, metadata and usage Conceptualize, analyze, build, test, and implement models that utilize various and diverse data sets

  • Identify, design, and implement process improvements: automate manual processe; debug long running and inefficient pipelines; re-design infrastructure for greater scalability; monitor, capture & analyze pipeline metadata and usage

  • Plan and execute projects, and communicate status, risks and issues

  • Perform root cause analysis of system and data issues and develop solutions as required

  • Serve as mentor for the team

60% - Support FSM Products and Analytics Roadmap:

  • Build strong cross-functional relationships

  • Manage, execute and monitor production operations

  • Resolve and escalate production issues as appropriate

  • Research and identify opportunities to drive the product roadmap

  • Partner with stakeholders to understand business and technical requirements

  • Communicate concisely and persuasively with product teams

40% - Regular and reliable attendance is required.


  • This job requires domestic and/or international travel up to 15%, depending upon location.

  • Keeps abreast of all applicable regulations, laws (including the Bank Secrecy Act), card association rules and policies as they presently exist and as they change or are modified. Ensures that the staff are trained and evaluated on their knowledge of and adherence to compliance policies and procedures specific to their jobs. Understands and adheres to CSG Security and Compliance standards as they appear in Information Security, Acceptable Use, Code of Conduct, and other corporate policies.

  • An employee may perform duties outside of their normal responsibilities as needed.


  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical field; or five years related experience and training in Business Intelligence and Data Management systems; or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • AWS Architect Certification Required


  • 2+ years experience in Data Engineering in a Cloud environment

  • 2+ years experience supporting Data Science projects/teams

  • 5+ years experience in Data Science, Business Analytics, or Data Analysis

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Familiar with agile methodologies

  • Familiarity with customer experience and field services data a plus but not required

  • Strong knowledge on DW concepts and BI on Cloud

  • Proficient in Oracle, Postgres, and AWS

  • Experienced in cloud services such as AWS Sagemaker, Snowflake, and Redshift

  • Advanced skills in scripting languages such as Python and SQL

  • Exposure to common data science toolkits, such as R, Weka, NumPy, MatLab, or other

  • Familiarity with BI tools such as DOMO, Power BI, and Tableau

  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and handle multiple projects simultaneously

  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language in a business environment
