Job Description:

The primary function is to market soybean meal and procure soybeans. This position is responsible for the coordination of rail, truck, and barge logistics. This position requires good organization, coordination, and communication skills.

Core Functions:

• Administer and adhere to all company, federal, state, and local purchasing/marketing practices, policies, procedures and regulations.


• Maintain a dominate Bunge presence in meal markets with strong communication skills, market knowledge and customer relationships via phone and face to face visits.


• Focus on direct farmer origination.


• Facilitate communication with other Bunge plants and St. Louis corporate office who share customer base and market knowledge.


• Procure soybeans from farmers and elevators.


• Manage specialty bean programs locally.


• Manage rail, truck, and barge logistics.


• Service customers in areas of market information, e-business, bids, hours, grade reporting and accounting issues.


• Evaluate and report crop dynamics and market conditions to appropriate company personnel in a timely and accurate manner.

Skill/Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Business or Agriculture Economics or related field.


• 5 plus years experience in commodity marketing or merchandising.


• Working knowledge of cash commodity trading and CBOT.


• Sales knowledge and negotiations skills.


• Excellent communications skills.


• Excellent customer service skills.


• Timeliness and accuracy are critical.


• Ability to learn and apply knowledge quickly.


• Proficient PC skills.


• Possess skill set to handle multiple responsibilities in a fast pace environment
