Cedar Fair is seeking a Manager of Compensation located at the corporate office in Charlotte, NC. Cedar Fair is a publicly traded company that employs nearly 50,000 associates on an annual basis, including corporate functions, amusement park leadership, and a significant non-exempt associate base, including a large seasonal staff. This role will be responsible for managing all broad-based compensation programs for Cedar Fair and leading a team of compensation analysts.



How You'll Make A Difference:





  • Manage a team of two compensation analysts.

  • Manage compensation program design, implementation, and administration.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert in all broad-based compensation programs.

  • Develop effective and clear communications regarding compensation programs/processes.

  • Ensures compliance with all federal, state, and regulatory standards and laws governing the compensation programs.

  • Collaborate with HR and Legal on compensation related matters and issues.

  • Serve as point of contact and subject matter expert for compensation concerns with HR, hiring managers and corporate business partners.

  • Assess the impact and effectiveness of compensation plans. Ensure companywide market competitiveness for hourly and salaried employees.

  • Manage survey participation and compensation benchmarking tools.

  • Conduct annual pay equity analysis, exemption analysis, and make recommendations for changes.

  • Manage the job evaluation process, including review of new and/or existing roles for alignment within salary structure and pay fairness.

  • Model compensation data develop reports and key metrics to support pay for performance culture.

  • Performs analysis, modeling, and calculations and other ad hoc data requests.

  • Manage and communicate the compensation planning process, including the company’s merit cycle program, short term incentive plans, and rewards and recognition programs.

  • Research compensation best practices and propose new and improved programs or practices based on organizational needs, cost projections, and statistical analysis.

  • Develop process documentation, instructions, and resources to assist HR business partners, Recruiting Team, and leaders as it relates to compensation. Recommend automation enhancements to facilitate the continued improvement to the process.

  • Manage special projects on a variety of compensation programs, policies and related matters.

  • Manager the design, development, and maintenance of compensation related data in Dayforce such as job codes, salary structures, position codes, etc. Conduct audits to maintain the integrity of the data and work with applicable partners to ensure the system meets compensation needs.

  • Remain current with emerging market practices and advise senior management accordingly



We're Looking For:





  • Bachelor’s Degree with 5-7 years relative compensation experience, including 2+ years managing a team.

  • Experience in a publicly traded company with multiple locations and distributed workforce is a plus.

  • Experience managing various types of sales incentive plans a plus.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to influence within all levels of the organization.

  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) and/or Certified Executive Compensation Professional (CECP) preferred.

  • Versed in compensation theory and local, state, and federal laws and regulations such as the Fair Labor Standards Act, Equal Pay Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, minimum wage, overtime and record keeping requirements.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with abilities to build pivot tables, formulas including V-Lookup and strong skills in other Microsoft Office Suite applications.

  • Experience with advanced HCM tools is a plus.
