This position will be an integral part of our Legal Department, working closely with our lawyers and other paralegals, as well as our internal business clients to provide various types of contracts-related support. You will provide both contract administrative and deal support. You will participate on projects to improve of our contractual workflow and processes. You will work independently on assigned matters but will also work collaboratively with our contracts team.
Core Duties & Responsibilities:
Provide implementation support and management on contract management software
Provide transactional support, including significant contract administration
Review contracts/agreements against established standards and put together a playbook or checklist
Upload agreements into a contract management system and prepare summary reports
Understand Forward Air's business requirements and the company's risk tolerance
Maintain an up-to-date and effective knowledge of company products and services offerings
Maintain focus that balances the need for profitability with ensuring the contractual terms and conditions protect the company and minimize risk
Track negotiations to/through closure and assure execution and finalization of all documentation required for contract closure
Develop and manage partner relationships with the sales organization to learn key strategies and goals
Develop proactive tactics and documents (internal negotiation notes, formal responses, etc.) to execute those strategies and goals in a way that will maximize profitability
Maintain open communication with contract management and business leadership to keep them advised of potential issues or risks throughout the contract development, negotiation, and conclusion
R equirements:
Associate's degree or in lieu of an Associate's degree, must have formal paralegal training
Minimum of 5 years of experience working in a support role in a corporate environment or in a law firm
Experience providing contract support for business clients, either as a contracts specialist or paralegal.
Ability to work independently with limited direction and set work priorities that conform to established standards
Team player that has ability to work with other team members and help influence and guide others
Proven analytical and organizational skills
Ability to meet all deadlines as assigned and respond quickly in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive and professional demeanor and producing high-quality work product
Skills
Experience with Microsoft Products, particularly Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
Ability to learn and use Conga Contracts, and other workflow tools.
