Material Handler II - 1st Shift at STULZ Air Technology Systems, Inc. in Frederick, Maryland

Job Description:

SUMMARY: To be able to perform all the functions of Material Handler 1 (See below) with more of an emphasis on the cycle counting aspects of the job. The individual would work directly with planning and the Material Allocations planner to count material while doing basic research on discrepancies. The individual would also help fill the production bins with floor stock and floor expense items while making sure all the necessary transactions are completed. The position requires familiarity of WMS and basic operating system experience (preferably SAP)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Must be forklift certified.
• Assists in maintaining the Planning and Production Reports fulfilling Manufacturing Orders shortage specifically.
• Run and maintain the shortage report.
• Deliver jobs to Production work centers.
• Assist in maintaining and fulfilling Engineering Change Orders.
• Follows Supervisor's oral instructions or work schedule to ascertain materials or containers to be moved in order to fulfill "Manufacturing Orders".
• Assist in performing daily cycle count in the "stock count" module, create and conduct cycle count as issues arise with production and various departments.
• Assist in posting all transactions related to inventory, transfers, adjustments, and variances with the basic understanding and concept of rejection tags, view of all sites, and QOH balances.
• Pulls jobs, assist in receiving, and shipping when needed following the warehouse procedures.
• Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves.
• Labels or tag items properly.
• Locate and stock received material rotating the inventory by receipt date following the warehouse procedures.
• Must be able to operate a forklift and electrical powered devices needed for moving material and maintain certification.
• Input on providing solutions to obstacles, which hinder work efficiency.
• Assist in organizing the work environment for the department.
• Works under the guidance of the Warehouse Supervisor on continuous improvement projects within the warehouse.

• Works under the guidance of the Material Foreman.
• Maintains inventory records.

• Perform and participate to completion, of the yearly Physical Inventory.
• Other duties as required.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIAONS: Must complete and pass a forklift safety program prior to performing tasks related to warehouse.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
• Three years' work experience in Warehouse.
• Minimum three years' experience with material handling in a manufacturing environment.
• Some experience with managing Manufacturer Orders.
• Moderate level of computer knowledge.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

• Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide by 10's and 100's.
• Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.
• Accurate counting and interpretation of vendor quantity in shipment

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to speak fluent English.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

• Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and multiply and divide by 10's and 100's.
• Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.
