Data Analyst IV - Sales Strategy

Cox Communications, Inc. is seeking a Data Analyst IV to join the Sales Strategy team. The Data Analyst IV will be responsible for researching, extracting, and synthesizing data into actionable insights to empower decision making and provide strategic guidance. They will operate with considerable latitude for independent judgment and provide influence and leadership to cross-functional teams and other stakeholders on ideas and solutions that impact results.
What You'll Do
Writes complex SQL queries to pull and aggregate data in a meaningful way for ongoing and ad hoc reporting requests
Gathers, synthesizes, and translates big data into actionable business insights
Understands the existing source system data models
Creates and maintains reporting and dashboard visualizations in Excel, Power BI, MicroStrategy and Tableau
Presents analytical findings and recommendations to various levels of the organization from front-line to senior executives
Provides direction regarding sales patterns, trends, and projections to drive business decisions
Gathers requirements and creates reporting insights to influence sales strategy
Supports and/or leads the process of identifying and scoping analytical projects that align with priority business opportunities, challenges, and needs
Initiates the identification of actionable insights and contributes to the development of business recommendations through effective presentations and communication of results
Facilitates meetings and presentations to senior leadership

Who You Are
Qualifications:
Minimum
8 or more years of experience in related field (i.e., data analysis, metrics, etc.); 5 or more years of experience if candidate possesses a related advanced degree
2+ years hands-on experience writing advanced SQL queries
2+ years developing visualizations in Tableau, MicroStrategy or other BI tools
Broad technical skills including extensive experience writing complex SQL queries to access various databases
Expertise in Microsoft Excel and experience in data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or MicroStrategy
Demonstrated problem solving and analytical thinking skills with no fear of coding
Excellent communication, presentation, and collaborative skills and ability to work effectively with diverse teams throughout the organization
Experience effectively leading and collaborating with teams in a matrix environment
Enjoys working independently as well as within a team environment
Comfortable in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment, with ability to manage multiple efforts concurrently
Preferred
BS/BA degree in related discipline; Master's degree in a related discipline strongly referred
