This individual will work under our IT Manager and with the IT team in working with IT Support and POS Systems for The Johnny Morris Foundation. Wonders of Wildlife in Springfield, MO is seeking a dynamic System Engineer I to join our team! This individual will work under our IT Manager and with the IT team in working with IT Support and POS Systems for The Johnny Morris Foundation. This position requires someone who is passionate about Information Technology, provides exceptional customer service, takes initiative, and has excellent problem-solving skills.

Essential Functions:

• Functions as the in-house software and hardware specialist providing front line end user and systems support.


• Analyzes, enhances, and supports Wonders of Wildlife processes that may span multiple computing environments.


• Develops an in-depth understanding of the Wonders of Wildlife processes in their area(s) of assignment.


• Identifies and implements systems and/or process improvements to support Wonders of Wildlife objectives.


• Provide orientation guidance to end users on how to operate software and computer systems.


• Reviews systems efficiencies and recommends changes to management needed to improve user and guest experiences.


• Setup workstations, Point -of- sales with peripheral devices (printers, scanners, etc...), Audio Visual system(s), etc.


• Perform trouble shooting to diagnose as needed to resolve problems.


• Documents and maintains Standard Operating Procedures and Knowledge Base articles.


• Responsible for opening, maintaining, and closing tickets within the helpdesk ticketing system.


• Serves as support and backup to the other Information Technology staff.


• Pursues continuous learning consistent with changes in technology and uses this to influence IS direction Job Function: Information Technology/Information Systems.


• Creates, executes, and delivers specialized reports for items such as capacity reporting, fundraising and marketing efforts.


• Ensures the integrity of membership and constituency information maintained in the system to assist with sales, marketing, and fundraising efforts.


• Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate POS system.


• Work with departments to create ticket admissions products in the Blackbaud POS system.


• Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where continuous improvement is expected.

• Must be able to consistently achieve high work standards, attention to detail, accuracy, and timeliness a must.


• Must adhere to all company/department safety standards and policies.


• Must be open to working mandatory/approved overtime.


• Must be open to working weekends/weekdays/nights when necessary/critical to support the business.


• Must be able to cover shifts at affiliate Conservation Attraction properties.


• Must have an approved driving record and operate a company vehicle if required/applicable.

MINIMUM Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education:

• BS/BA degree in Computer Information Systems or equivalent experience is preferred.


• Two or more years of experience in Information technology support is a plus.


• Ability to work in a fast, agile work environment while working independently or within a group setting.


• Excellent verbal and written customer service skills the ability to be empathetic, accurate, compassionate, responsive, resourceful and conscientious.


• Ability to calmly and rationally assess competing priorities and maintaining attention to detail while under pressure from end-users.


• Obsessed with finding the best solution to a problemeven when it involves learning unfamiliar technologies.


• Ability to quickly acquire an understanding of a technical issue and identify practical resolution options.


• Ability to work with all levels of the organization and guests while providing the highest level of customer service.


• In depth knowledge of Windows 10, and Microsoft Office suite, Windows Server, NTFS, Active Directory, domain services, networking, wireless technologies.


• General knowledge of IOS and android platforms.


• Experience with Blackbaud products is a plus.


• Requires walking/standing approximately 60% of the time; sitting approximately 20% of the time; lifting up to 50 lbs approximately 10% of the time; stooping, forward bending and crouching approximately 10% of the time.

• Must be able to work in an environment with exposure to sunlight, various animals, weather, loud sounds, low lighting, close quarters, high/low temperatures, etc.
