The Global Enterprise Network Team is responsible for the design and deployment Equinix's internal IT network systems. We focus on enterprise solutions, efficiency tools, and IT systems integration which helps move all of Equinix’s businesses forward.   The Senior Network Engineer is a hands-on role where you will be responsible for the design and implementation of Equinix's Enterprise Corporate and Data Center networks.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and deploy networking equipment and services to support the Global Enterprise Data Center environments




• Subject matter expert on enterprise application network stack components, including Cisco Nexus platforms, F5 LTM/DNS, Palo Alto firewalls, and Juniper EX series switches.




• Work with various departments on current initiatives and challenges.




• Provide input on the future architecture of the enterprise network, while taking in requirements from stakeholders in various internal organizations




• Manage several high-profile enterprise network related projects at a given time




• Participate in requirements/architecture discussions, design reviews, UAT, and deployment/training processes of various projects and products 




• Determine operational weaknesses within the existing network infrastructure, and present execution plans to remediate problem areas.




• Generate and update documentation on procedures and network topologies




• Implementation and enforcement of existing and self-designed security measures and policies to protect Equinix from both external and internal attacks and/or abuses.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of network engineering experience in global large-scale enterprise and data-center environments.




• In-depth knowledge and experience with the design and implementation of switched and routed networks.




• Strong working knowledge of OSPF and BGP routing protocols in large scale designs




• Expert experience with large carrier networks and connectivity such as EPL, VPLS, MPLS, ISP.




• Expert experience implementing Cisco or Juniper network infrastructure




• Strong experience architecting F5 networks LTM/DNS.




• Strong Palo Alto engineering and deployment experience.




• Network security experience around securing network designs using firewalls, protocols and features.




• Experience automating network tasks with tools such as ansible and python.




• Meraki Wi-Fi technologies and associated design experience.




• Experience with Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) and/or 802.1x deployments




• Hands-on experience with hybrid cloud architectures using AWS, Azure, Google, VMware cloud, etc.




• Ability to work as a member of a cross-functional team.




• Ability to document solutions with Visio, Word, and PowerPoint.




• Advanced technical certifications (i.e., CCIE, JNCIE, CCNP) desired.




• Bachelor’s degree.




• Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with clients, management, and peers.

In accordance with Colorado State Law (https://leg.colorado.gov/bills/sb19-085) the salary range for Colorado for this role is $113,000 - $153,000 per year with 20% bonus target.
