Job Description:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Controller in Silver Spring, MD.

Key Tasks:

• Controller will be responsible for managing the monthly financial closing process


• Preparing general ledger entries by maintaining records and files


• Reconciling accounts


• As a Controller, you will be ensuring all cost allocations are accurate


• Maintaining the fixed asset ledger


• Preparing journal entries


• Preparing depreciation schedules


• Controller will be preparing cash journals


• Preparing payroll journal entry

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business


• MBA or CPA certification is a plus


• 10+ years of experience as a Senior Accountant performing extensive accounting functions including journal entries, account reconciliations, preparation of supporting schedules and financial statements


• Excellent computer skills, proficiency with accounting software and experience with software system implementations


• Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting and cost control principles, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
