Overview

Blue Rhino, a Ferrellgas company, is a national leader in propane cylinder exchange. We are growing and adding a Maintenance Technician position to our production plant in Channahon, IL to meet the demands of our customers across the country! The Maintenance Technician is responsible for a wide range of daily duties including inspection, maintenance, and repair of facility equipment and systems and documentation of such tasks; all while maintaining safety, productivity, and financial responsibility.

Schedule:

Monday - Friday, some Saturday when needed
• Overtime hours likely during busy summer months

Responsibilities

• Monitors equipment for unusual sounds to detect malfunction.


• Responsible for mechanical troubleshooting and repair.


• Dismantles defective equipment and installs new or repaired parts.


• Conducts daily inspections & completes maintenance inspection logs.


• Provides technical information and operational guidance to production employees.


• Assists leadership with problem resolution and correction of equipment deficiencies.


• Constantly considers long term upgrades / repairs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.


• Technical training / technical degree a plus.


• 1-year maintenance / mechanical experience in a manufacturing environment.


• Basic computer skills.


• Basic knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.


• Mandatory overtime when necessary.
