The KM Senior Product Manager leads initiatives to implement and maximize KM technology solutions that support and accelerate the practice and business of law at Sidley. This role oversees all aspects of a technology portfolio from conception and evaluation through configuration, implementation and on-going administration. This includes identifying opportunities to improve and/or expand the portfolio and to collaborate with other KM and firm solutions.
In collaboration with the CKO and Directors, the Senior Product Manager develops product roadmaps for the portfolio that align with the firm's KM goals. This person leads cross-functional teams to execute the product roadmap, ensuring that business goals and priorities are clearly understood by all team members and reflected in their work.
The Senior Product Manager provides strategic advice on leveraging the portfolio technologies to address challenges faced by practice areas, client teams, individual lawyers and other key stakeholders. The Senior Product Manager defines the implementation and communication strategies to drive adoption of the portfolio technologies and leads the resources and processes to execute those strategies.
Duties and Responsibilities
In collaboration with the CKO and Directors, define the strategic business goals and overall roadmap for the portfolio technologies to address current needs, as well as to anticipate future growth and opportunities.
Lead the execution of the overall portfolio roadmap from conception and evaluation through configuration, implementation and on-going administration.
Identify and prioritize opportunities to enhance or expand the portfolio technologies and to collaborate with other KM and firm solutions.
Align the features and functionality of the portfolio technologies with the strategic business goals and KM priorities of the firm, practice areas, client teams, individual lawyers and other key stakeholders.
Prioritize development, issue and enhancement requests and release cycles to ensure timely delivery of features and functionality that reflect the firm's strategic business goals and KM priorities.
Establish and execute active and passive feedback loops and related reporting metrics to assess the efficacy and adoption of portfolio technologies and leverage that feedback to inform business goals, priorities and roadmaps.
Define implementation and communication strategies aimed at maximizing the impact and value of the portfolio technologies.
Develop deep subject matter expertise with the content, configuration and capabilities of the portfolio technologies.
Develop deep subject matter expertise with regard to the scope and nature of internal and external data and technologies that could be leveraged to enhance the portfolio technologies.
Implement reporting metrics to measure the quality of the data maintained via the experience management platform and its impact.
Develop and present analytical recommendations and actionable insights to disseminate findings and successful practices to key stakeholders.
Develop templates and implement knowledge-management performance reports to include progress against goals, trends analysis, and forecasting.
Hire, train, supervise and mentor direct reports and other team members in the day-to-day management and administration of the portfolio technologies. Write annual performance reviews for direct reports.
Ensure compliance with all applicable data privacy regulations and policies.
Manage relationships with vendors and outside service providers related to the portfolio technologies to ensure a consistent, high level of service and performance.

Education and/or Experience:
Required:
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university.
A minimum of ten years of experience working with legal technology tools and/or related technologies.
A minimum of 3 years of experience managing people.
Demonstrated knowledge of an array of legal practices, including transactional, litigation and regulatory areas.
Demonstrated ability to manage complex multiple projects with competing deadlines and priorities.
Expert-level skills in MS Excel and PowerPoint for use in analyzing and presenting data.
Demonstrated ability to think strategically to define business goals, set priorities and establish short-, mid- and long-term objectives and execute on those objectives.
