About the Role

Our Commercial Director will work as part of our Client and Partner Services (CAPS) Team to develop and implement commercial strategies according to company goals and objectives aiming to accelerate growth, maintain profitability, streamline processes, and guard the integrity and reputation of the Association/AICPA/CIMA. The role is to ensure the Association does good business by balancing risk and reward to build sustainable revenue streams. Key responsibilities include:


  • Build a global, centralized commercial operation to drive consistency across the Association and minimize risks.

  • Establish and maintain strong stakeholder relationships across our organization, as well as key client and partner relationships externally.

  • Use extensive experience and knowledge to identify potential legal, financial, or sales issues.

  • Lead negotiations and conduct legal and financial research for new engagement, projects, vendors, or customers.

  • Anticipate obstacles that could inhibit progress (particularly driving revenue) then devise a plan to deal with problems.

A successful candidate for this position would demonstrate the following key skills and responsibilities:


  • Commercial Strategy & Planning


    • Global leadership of our commercial strategy to support corporate B2B sales



  • Commercial Operations

    • Leading the commercial operations for a fast growing sales team



  • People Leadership       

    • Leading a team of contract professionals, providing strategic level oversight and ongoing coaching and development



  • Drive Commercial Innovation

    • Creating commercial and governance policies and procedures for a worldwide sales organization



  • Supply Chain Management

    • Develop and manage key supplier relationships



About You:


  • A fantastic relationship builder and stakeholder manager.  This role interacts with many decision-makers across our organization and externally with major clients and partners.

  • Big-picture, strategic thinker with the ability to improve processes and create efficiencies, shape deals, and build consensus across teams.

  • Data analytics and critical thinking skills, with the ability to analyze and negotiate complex contracts

  • People leadership and coaching experience

  • Proven experience as commercial director or another relevant role with global remit

  • Proven experience in sales and/or marketing and managing relationships with key clients

  • Management experience

  • Contract negotiation experience

  • Knowledge of basic contract laws

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
