About the Role

You are responsible for the oversight of internal controls that affect the Company's financial reporting. This position reports to the Chief Accounting Officer and works closely with internal and external auditors, risk management, and operations and technology teams. Your role is vital in developing, implementing, and maintaining the internal systems and financial controls consistent with policies.

What You Can Expect

You will direct and supervise the Accounting Control Group(s). You will provide oversight of the ICFR (Internal Control Over Financial Reporting) program, engagement of all projects that either directly or indirectly affect the Company's general ledger, administration of the primary internal entry systems, and second line of defense monitoring of the account reconciliation system. You will collaborate on operational processes, develop solutions, and provide business guidance and insights.

How You'll Spend Your Time


  • You will evaluate deficiencies and weaknesses identified in controls over financial reporting and report on the design and effectiveness of the ICFR program.

  • You will represent Financial Accounting on steering committees that oversee operational and technical projects that affect financial reporting.

  • You will identify and implement opportunities for efficiency and automation and mitigate risks throughout the accounting processes and systems.

  • You will develop and manage effective communication and planning systems and processes with all other departments.

  • You will support and assist the Financial Accounting team in various ad-hoc special projects, as needed.

Education & Experience Requirements

This level of knowledge is normally acquired through achieving a CPA certification along with requisite education, generally a Master's Degree in Accounting, and 8-10 years of experience, preferably related to financial institutions of comparable size and complexity to BOKF.
