The Software Engineering Senior Advisor role delivers professional activities in the Software Engineering job family, with a focus on Software Development. This Software Engineering Senior Advisor needs to address the entire software development lifecycle; to analyze the needs of the business, and then design, test and develop software in order to meet those needs, all through the use of software programming languages. The role also focuses on the complex and large software applications that make up the core business systems for this organization.

This position is with Evernorth, a new business within the Cigna Corporation.

This role is Work from Home which allows most work to be performed at home or on occasion at a Cigna office location. Employees must be fully vaccinated if they choose to come onsite.

Responsibilities

• Improving system quality by identifying issues and common patterns, and developing standard testing and operating procedures


• Enhancing applications by identifying opportunities for improvement, making recommendations and designing and implementing systems and comprehensive system testing.


• Maintaining and improving existing codebases


• Collaborating with colleagues to implement technical designs


• Investigating and using new technologies where relevant


• Providing written knowledge transfer material


• Excellent oral and written communication skills


• Ability to work independently and in a team setting

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's Degree preferred.


• 4 year degree in Business Analysis and/or Computer software engineering


• Experience within the Express Scripts organization Knowledge of algorithms and data structures


• Extensive .Net development experience


• Must be a current contractor with Cigna, Express Scripts, or Evernorth. Evernorth is a new business within the Cigna Corporation.

This position is not eligible to be performed in Colorado.
