Operator I - WA at Healthy Pet in FERNDALE, Washington

Job Description:

Healthy Pet has immediate openings for Operator I (dryers) at our Ferndale, WA plant on the night shift. These positions ensure absorbent product meets a specific dryness density standard along each of the three stages in the dryer.

Pittman Schedule: We are a 24/7 facility with rotating 12 hr. shifts. Day shift: 7am - 7:30pm / Night shift: 7pm - 7:30am

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Performs hourly temperature and moisture analysis and recording this analysis and dryer temperature.


• Between shift changes, performs general cleanup of dryer area and communicates with oncoming operator of any issues or changes.


• Communicates with Wet-End Operator with regard to product status, quality, fiber consistency and production processing rate.


• Identifies various pulp fibers and their make-up.  Adjust dryer operation as needed.


• Performs preventative maintenance on trouble spots, throughout the dryers, on conveyor belts, and in auger compartments to ensure that dust build-up does not impeded proper operations.


• Verifies that machines are running properly and that all safety guards and panels are in place.  Performs light maintenance and apply lock-out/tag-out procedures when necessary.  Notify maintenance when major mechanical repairs are needed.


• Performs other duties, as assigned.

Qualification Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED.


• Two years of related operator experience in a manufacturing environment. (preferred)


• Experience operating industrial machinery, production machinery and controls. (preferred)
