THE ROLE

Based in San Francisco, the Commercial Brand Development Manager,babyganics plays a pivotal part in the organization. You will help set business strategy and work directly with every department on a day-to-day basis -- sales, brand experience, new product development, operations, and finance -- to drive business results. This is a hands-on role where your curiosity, initiative and energy level will have a direct impact on the Lifestyle division and the broader SC Johnson organization. This role combines elements of general management and brand marketing to drive the commercialization levers of our brands through day-to-day exposure to functional and company leadership teams.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

The Brand Development Manager will:


  • Help develop and execute the annual business plans and strategies by conducting competitive market analyses, identifying key opportunity areas to drive growth and anticipating and tackling challenges through creative solutions.

  • Take charge of the business by analyzing syndicated data (Nielsen), internal shipment data, market research and other sources to both monitor performance and make actionable business recommendations.

  • Contribute to effective management of the P&L to grow both sales and profit.

  • Partner with the Sales Team to create compelling retailer selling stories for Innovation.

  • Led commercialization efforts across a variety of consumer touch points including product, communications, and e-commerce.

  • Work with research partners and Consumer Insights to synthesize and act on market trends and consumer data to evolve product positioning and build new item launch plans.

  • Partner with Brand Experience and Brand Strategy teams to build effective, marketing support plans

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:


  • 5+ years of experience in marketing/brand management at a consumer products company

  • Bachelors Degree

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States now and in the future without sponsorship

  • MBA

  • Strong initiative and demonstrated leadership across functions and levels.

  • A fast-paced multi-tasking expert with strong cross-functional project management capabilities.

  • Strong analytical skills and strategic instinct.

  • High energy and passion for driving responsible business growth.

  • A team player, comfortable with ambiguity and managing multiple projects/deadlines.

  • Outstanding communication skills -- oral and written.

  • Experience analyzing and interpreting syndicated data.
