Job Description:

Located in the heart of World Golf Village, Westminster St. Augustine, a Life Plan Community, is currently accepting applications for the position of Baker to work on a full-time basis. As part of the culinary team, this position will deliver quality bakery items following recipes and instructions using quality ingredients for residents, guest and staff to enjoy. Provides support in other assigned areas during the absence of the supervisor. As a part of the Westminster Family, this position is an important contributor to the resident experience.

 ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:

The Baker position must comply with all applicable rules, policies, standards and guidelines related to employment with Westminster Communities including:

 MAJOR JOB OBJECTIVES & INITIATIVES:

1. Follows recipes and/or product directions.


2. Measures and mixes baking ingredients using a variety of devices.


3. Prepares items from scratch or box-scratch such as breads, rolls, muffins, biscuits, pies, cakes, cookies pastries, and other desserts.


4. Checks production and keeps records in order to accurately plan production requirements.


5. Measures and mixes baking ingredients using a variety of devices.


6. Molds ingredients into loaves/shapes.


7. Places products into correctly prepared pans.


8. Places items in ovens.


9. Regulates the temperatures of the ovens.


10. Removes baked items from ovens and applies appropriate toppings.


11. May decorate cakes, cookies, pastries and other desserts.


12. Measures and mixes baking ingredients using a variety of devices.


13. Requisitions supplies and equipment as needed.


14. Follows all applicable food regulatory rules and procedures.


15. May clean and sanitize workstations and equipment.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent, Florida SafeStaff certification required or ability to obtain certification within 90 days of date of hire.

Experience: 1-3 Years of related work experience, proficiency with computer programs including Microsoft Office; proficiency with data-base types of menu. Supervisory and leadership experience preferred.

Requirements:

Ability to read, write and speak the English language and understand and follow written and oral directions. Ability to effectively communicate and receive information in a manner easily understood by fellow employees. Ability to perform basic math skills.
