The Associate Product Manager is responsible for supporting a chillers product line/segment/family. This position supports more senior product managers with optimization of product performance measured through realized margins and market share.

How you will do it!


  • Provide support identifying and implementing actions related to competitive positioning opportunities, identifying product gaps, predicting competitive reactions and planning product development, product line effectiveness and profitability

  • Support launch plans and ramp down plans for products in accordance with product development schedules and the strategic product roadmap for the product line

  • Track revenue, costs, profitability and all other relevant key performance indicators of product line

  • Support programs and efforts to develop product requirements for extensions, enhancements, options, or new product developments

  • Review assigned market growth as well product volume projections

  • Support preparation of timely and accurate financial plans, forecasts for business planning, and identifies major deviations and recommends corrective actions

  • Understand characteristics and reasons for product success (or shortfall) and recognize opportunities and gaps

  • Support product line specific content for sales support, sales training and customer collateral

  • Provide support to Portfolio Managers as needed with sales and customers

  • Support core positioning and messaging for product line consistent with overall line of business strategy and JCI vision/goals

  • Assist with ensuring marketing messages are consistent internally and externally

  • Support a full complement of global sales tools (energy analysis programs, system selection tools, etc.) needed by the channels to be better positioned to compete in the market

  • Responsible for pricing and cost management

  • Support promotional activities in industry and professional forums

  • Support training program needs and materials in concert with marketing, sales and, learning and development teams

  • Assist with maintaining product roadmap(s)

  • Support efforts to deliver the products, features, options and sales tools required to feed strategic growth plans both global and regionally focused

  • Assure sales tools (i.e. YORKWorks) are accurate and current with proper BTP and price levels for their product line

  • Support efforts to assemble competitive benchmarking and position needed to support requirements for product development projects

  • Support development and management of key documents; VSR, competitive analysis, and business plans

What we look for

Required


  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, (MBA desired)

  • 4 years BAS or HVAC Product Management or 5 years Product Support experience

  • Demonstrable business management skills in a product management environment

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Applications (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint) as well as Internet software and E-mail

  • Ability to envision and introduce creative tools for fast and effective interaction with the field combining high technical complexity and commercial interests in a seamless and user-friendly manner would be a significant plus

  • Travel is required 20% of the time
