What you will do:
Be part of the Global Air-Cooled Chiller team Engineering team based in New Freedom, PA. Will work under the Product Engineering Manager to assist design and development of new products, support production of existing products globally, lead and participate various engineering activities to resolve field technical issues, qualify components and services.
How you will do it:
Maintains understanding of theories, concepts, technical principles, and processes related to mechanical and electrical aspects of scroll chiller/heat pump products
Has proficiency in mechanical design and be able to conceptualize and implement design ideas into the product
Works closely with the design and drafting group in generating chiller layout concepts and system configurations
Generates engineering/design documentation and compiles technical documents for use within the company
Prepares and implements test programs to verify performance and reliability of electrical and mechanical components and systems
Reviews and analyzes test data and provide feedback for design and trouble shooting
Applies regulatory codes such as UL, CE, PED and ASME in product design
Possesses knowledge of manufacturing processes and applies the philosophy of crafting to standard manufacturing process
Defines, plans, and promotes a sophisticated project into several routine smaller ones
Reports on the status of the projects
Strives for continuous improvement and teamwork
What we look for:
BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (ABET accredited)
Minimum 4 years’ experience in a related field
Consistent record in a design and product development environment
Basic understanding of fundamental business knowledge
Consistent track record with thermodynamics, fluid flow and heat transfer experience
Consistent record with pumps, fans, compressors and/or electric motors
Product development experience
Pump design and/or pump manufacturing, as well as casting and machining
Electrical engineering (electric motor, motor control, electrical wiring) a plus
Strong design background and knowledge/experience in refrigeration system and components (compressors, heat exchangers) a plus
