Position Summary:

Responsibilities: Essential Duties

  • Analyzes organization business or system processes and develop/optimize processes through a system.
  • Applies functional or technical knowledge to design or develop or customization of systems that provide seamless integration for client/server applications, as well as mechanices of peristaltic pumping mechanisms and the control of and interaction with disposables.
  • Writes functional requirements or technical specification, develops test plans, system support and conduct training whenever required.
  • Provides committed involvement in project at system level in mechanical engineering, software development, and statistical analysis
  • Applies functional and technical knowledge to design and develop customized mechanical systems/components. Influences the development of and drives the application of principles, theories, concepts.
  • Formulates technical approaches, derives cost and schedule estimates for new hardware products and modifications to existing systems.
  • Writes, reviews, edits product requirements, interface requirements, technical specifications, product assembly instructions, performance criteria, test plans, etc. (to industry and department standards) in collaboration with other engineering staff.
  • Develops verification procedures and executes product testing.
  • Supports certification, validation, maintenance, installation, activities associated with pertinent hardware.
  • Helps coordinate the procurement of mechanical components/equipment.
  • Designs, develops and implements mechanical tooling, fixturing, and measurement devices used in product development.
  • Participates in multi-functional project team meetings and design reviews.
  • Supports Risk Management activities to ensure robust and reliable designs.

  • Requires advanced knowledge of professional field and industry. Influences the development of and drives the application of principles, theories, concepts. Determines best course of action.
  • Work under minimal supervision. Relies on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish assigned goals. May periodically assist in orienting, training, assigning and checking the work of lower level employees. Referring only complex problems and issues
  • Judgement is required in resolving all day-to-day problems.
  • Contacts are primarily with department supervisors, leads, subordinates, and peers. Occasional contact with external contractors/vendors.
  • Must be knowledgeable & experienced in the use of engineering practices associated with analyzing, specifying, designing, testing, and debugging mechanical systems.
  • Familiar and experienced with practices in designing machined and injected molded components.
  • Experienced with industry standard tools such as SolidWorks including Finite Element Analysis.
  • Familiar with different material compatibilities for material compliance regulation.
  • Clear understanding of using best GD&T practices.
  • CAD design experience is required.
  • Experience with design of medical devices and their processes within a medical device engineering environment is preferred.
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis methods and DOE techniques is preferred.

  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred.
  • 10-12 years related experience required.
  • Regular and predictable attendance
