This position is responsible for providing all facets of recruiting for non exempt and up to mid level exempt employees of the corporation. This will be achieved through the development of local and where required national recruiting plans, employing traditional sourcing strategies and resources as well as developing new, creative recruiting ideas. The Recruiter II will play a critical role in ensuring AltaMed employs the best possible talent.


Develop and Execute Recruiting Plans

  1. Work with hiring managers on recruiting planning meetings.
  2. Create job descriptions draft for review and approval by hiring manager and compensation department.
  3. Lead the creation of a recruiting and interviewing plan for each open position.
  4. Efficiently and effectively fill open positions.
  5. Conduct regular follow-up with managers to determine the effectiveness of recruiting plans and implementation.
  6. Develop a pool of qualified candidates in advance of need.
  7. Research and recommend new sources for active and passive candidate recruiting.
  8. Build networks to find qualified passive candidates.
  9. Post openings in newspapers, with professional organizations, and in other position appropriate venues.
  10. Utilize the Internet for recruitment.
    • Post positions to appropriate Internet sources.
    • Improve the company website recruiting page to assist in recruiting.
    • Research new ways of using the Internet for recruitment.
    • Use social and professional networking sites to identify and source candidates.

Network through Industry Contacts, Association Memberships, Trade Groups and Employees

  1. Locate and document where to find ideal candidates.
  2. Aid public relations internally and externally in establishing a recognizable “employer of choice” reputation.
  3. Communicate with managers and employees regularly to establish rapport, gauge morale, and source candidates.
  4. Create contacts within industry.
  5. Attend local professional meetings and membership development meetings.
  6. Maintain regular contact with possible future candidates.

Administrative Duties and Record Keeping

  1. Review applicants to evaluate if they meet the position requirements.
  2. Conduct prescreening interviews.
  3. Maintain all pertinent applicant and interview data.
  4. Assist in writing and forwarding rejection letters.
  5. Assist in preparing and sending offer packages.
  6. Assist in preparing and sending new employee orientation packages.
  7. Perform other special projects as assigned.


  1. A bachelor’s degree or equivalent recruitment experience is preferred.
  2. Minimum three years of non exempt and lower level exempt recruiting experience required.
  3. Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification preferred.
  4. Experience in a nonprofit agency setting is desirable. Experience related to the human resources function, which will have provided the knowledge and skills outlined above may be substituted for the college education on a year-for-year basis.
  5. When driving on AltaMed business, maintenance of a valid California driver’s license and satisfactory driving record is required.
